Fragen und Antworten

Vor kurzem organisierte ja Elmar eine "Fragestunde" mit Mark Skaggs, hier sind nun die Antworten auf 8 Fragen:
1. How many players will generals support in multiplayer? (LAN,Wol)
[Skaggs, Mark] 8 players

2. Will there be a offline skirmish modus? If yes, what can we expect from the AI. Will it be also revolutionary or just be a good opponent to train for WOL?
[Skaggs, Mark] We`re still working on AI for skirmish and have some big goals. Best to check back in a few months to see how much we`ve been able to do.

3. Will generals use the tcp/ip protocol for LAN-playing?
[Skaggs, Mark] Our matchmaking system is undergoing radical changes. More info on this coming later this summer.

4. Will it be possible to save LAN-games?
[Skaggs, Mark] Interesting idea. I`ll see if we can easily add it to our schedule.

5. Are there any plans to release the e3 trailer or other gameplay movies?
[Skaggs, Mark] Yes. The E3 demo should be available sometime soon and we`ll continue to release movies while we`re completing the project.

6. Will air-units just fly into the map, when you call them or will there be something like a heli-pad?
[Skaggs, Mark] Both the US and China have airports for planes. The US has a helipad at that airport.

7. If you take a look on to RA2, you will recognize that there are many, many cheaters and game-washers. Do you have any plans for generals like anti-cheating tools or better and longer support, so that this cheating-wave won`t overrun WOL?
[Skaggs, Mark] We`ve been working on this since Yuri`s Revenge and have built some critical components into the new engine to eliminate the possibility of the cheats we`ve seen so far. That being said, hackers and cheaters won`t go away so we`ll have to continue to keep up with them even after we ship.

8. Do you have anything you wanna tell the German communtiy?
[Skaggs, Mark] Sure thing. First is "thanks" for past support of C&C titles. German players are very important to us. Rather than just say this though, let people know that we`re planning a trip to Germany during July to learn more about how German players play RTS games and how we can make the game better for them.

Also, the team is working very hard and with quiet determination to make this the best C&C ever. We`re following the same philosophy we used when making RA2 in that we`re simply doing our best without trying to over-hype our efforts. We would rather have people get excited because they know the game is real rather than get excited from "hype". The recent recognition of "Best Strategy Game of E3" makes us happy because it was based on people seeing and enjoying our "real" work rather than fancy demo code.
