Gedanken zum Game und Shans Antworten

Auf dem offiziellen Generals Board, im MPT Forum fand ich folgendes Posting:
Here`s my two cents on the game, after a few days of playing:

1. I HATE when games become wars over supply depots. I`m a big fan of two sides building huge armies that are not limited by funds or access to funds.

2. Supply depots need to show how much money is left in them. It`d just help.

3. I just played a game, and I lost because my enemy built three or four scud sites and launched them at once. Seeing my entire base destroyed in three seconds, without a single shot of mine fired, was upsetting. Perhaps there should be limits on the number of superweapons built.

4. The game just plays slow. I have a fast machine (2.53 GHz, 64MB video ram), so I?m pretty sure it isn?t the machine. It`s not that I get bad FPS, but just the pace of the game.... I`m used to RA2, where everything just seems more responsive. Also, if we have to play at 800x600, let me zoom the camera out some more. I hate having to scroll around just to see the other side of my base.

5. Options, options, options.... I know this is a beta test, so this will probably change, but more options are needed for each game. The general?s star rating should be adjustable at the beginning of a game, as should the amount of money at supply depots, and maybe be able to adjust the relative offensive defense (say, all armor upgraded 20% and firepower downgraded 20% for a defensive game, and the opposite for an offensive game). People should be allowed to restrict a game to contained bases, so each player doesn?t have a base at each supply depot.

Bemerkenswerterweise hat Shanahan darauf geantwortet:
1. each side has their own depots, the neutral ones are where the fun is

2. That will be fixed

3. Gathering that data from the MP test

4. Tweaking these things between now and ship

5. Agreed, final game will have more options for game setup.

Die wohl wichtigste Aussage ist, daß es im finalen Game mehr Multiplayeroptionen geben wird ;)
