I?ve spoken to our engineers about all the comments posted on the boards regarding the Router/Firewall port information?s accuracy. I?ve forwarded these comments to them and they will be running some tests to verify exactly what the situation is. As soon as I hear something I will post again to let everyone know their findings.
On the data mismatch issue I?m happy to report that we?ve finally received a set of four replays from the same game and the appropriate parties will be looking over these next week to see what we can determine. Currently, and this is totally speculation at this point, we seem to be seeing a trend that structures may have something to do with it. Again, as soon as I have something more concrete to report I?ll post again to let everyone know what our findings are.
We?ve been going through the serious error e-mails that have been submitted and so far the most common reason that we?ve been seeing for this are users with unsupported video cards. The S3 ProSavage and the Intel series graphic chips seem to be out there in abundance and Generals does not support these chips. Another common reason for this error has been old video card drivers. A lot of users sending in e-mails that contained the EAsy info has shown that their drivers in a lot of cases were several revisions old. And lastly, overheating has been a factor as well.
We do realize that some of you that are receiving this error do not fall under any of these categories and we continue to work on other possible solutions. If you are among these users that are still receiving this error please do the following:
Generals includes a program called ?EAsy System Info?. Go to ?StartProgramsEA GamesCommand & Conquer GeneralsEAsy System Info? and run the program. Click ?OK?, and then click on ?Save Info?. The file will be saved to your desktop. Attach this file and send it to seriouserror@ea.com.
We apologize for not having more information at this time, but rest assured that we are working hard to try and resolve these issues and will update you as soon as new information becomes available.
Thanks for your patience.
