It is time.... for another RenGuard update! More and more tuning and building has been completed since we last spoke. A lot of the development has been done in the secret back end of things. But, what I can tell you is that it is working. All of the components can complete their primary functions. What exists now are necessary additions to clean and polish the program, and make is usable by "darn near everyone". This weekend we developed the concept GUI which Scorpio is integrating into the client-side application. BRenBot for Linux will have full integrated SSC (server-side client) support, and Dante is working on adding support into BR.NET, while djlaptop is nearly done with the creation of the server-side client for those who use other software to moderate your servers. We are also finished with the auto-updating of the application. This of course also means that outdated versions will not be allowed to connect to RenGuard-protected servers. Another important piece finished is banning. We can ban users from the RenGuard network by username, IP, and serial. And before you ask, we are not collecting your serial. The RenGuard client will one-way encrypt your serial before it is transmitted to our servers. Also, the RenGuard client will support multiple languages. As you might have seen already, we are gathering files for other language releases of Renegade plus all the menus can be in your native language. Soon we will start stress-testing the servers and looking for content editors for the RenGuard MOTDs.

Übersetzung: Es ist Zeit für ein weiteres Update zum Status von Renguard! Wir haben ziemliche Fortschritte gemacht seit ich das letzte Update gepostet habe, eine Menge Entwicklungsarbeit wurde im (geheimen) Back-End vollbracht. Was ich euch erzählen kann: Es funktioniert! Alle Komponenten können ihre primären Funktionen erledigen. Nun müssen noch einige kleine Verschönerungsarbeiten erledigt werden damit alle das Tool benutzen können. Dieses Wochenende haben wir den Prototypen des GUI programmiert der nun von Scorpio in die Client-Applikation integriert wird. BRenBot für Linux wird einen vollen SSC (Server Side Client) Support bieten und Dante arbeitet an der Integration in BR.Net. djlaptop ist mit der Entwicklung des SSC für die User, die lieber andere Remote-Lösungen für ihre Server nutzen, fast fertig. Fertig sind wir auch mit der Auto-Updatefunktion. Natürlich bedeutet das auch, daß alte versionen nicht mit RenGuard Servern zusammenarbeiten werden. Ein weiterer wichtiger, jetzt abgeschlossener Punkt ist das Bannen von Usern. Gebannt wird Username, IP und Serial. Bevor ihr fragt: Nein, RenGuard wird keine Serials übertragen, der Client wird die Serial verschlüsseln bevor sie auf einen RenGuard Server übertragen wird. Der RenGuard Client wird mehrere Sprachen unterstützen. Wie ihr vielleicht schon gesehen habt, suchen wir Dateien für andere Sprachen, so daß alle Menüs in der jeweiligen Sprache des Benutzers vorhanden sind.
